Week of Action
Each June, United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties hosts Week of Action, a weeklong initiative that mobilizes volunteers, partners, and community members to take meaningful action across Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive. For more than 59 years, we have worked locally to strengthen resilience, advance health, expand youth opportunity, and build financial security for individuals and families across our region. Week of Action is one of the most powerful expressions of that mission in action.
While activities vary each year, Week of Action brings together hands-on volunteer projects that respond directly to community needs. From assembling essential kits to supporting local organizations, revitalizing spaces, and participating in donation drives, volunteers help create real, measurable impact in just a few days.

Birthday in a Box Assembly – CISCO
Location: BellWorks, 101 Crawfords Corner Road, Suite 1-406, Holmdel, NJ 07733
Project: Assemble 30 Birthday in a Box kits for local families and food pantries.
Thursday, June 25, 2026 (Morning)
Basic Hygiene Bag Packing Event
Location: American Red Cross, 1540 W Park Ave, Ocean Township, NJ 07712
Project: Assemble 100 Family Basic Hygiene Bags for distribution through partner agencies including Jewish Family Services and Preferred Mutual Health Insurance.

Senior Comfort Bags Assembly (In Office)
Location: UWMOC Office – 6 Industrial Way West, Suite 1-A, Eatontown, NJ
Project: Assemble Senior Comfort Bags for distribution through community partners.

Delivery of Senior Comfort Bags & Birthday in a Box Kits
Partners: Meals on Wheels Ocean County and additional community agencies
About Week of Action
Last year’s Week of Action brought together hundreds of volunteers to make a lasting impact, including:
- 600 Family Hygiene Bags assembled
- 75 Birthday in a Box kits created
- 100 Senior Comfort Bags prepared and distributed
This year, we continue that momentum with hands-on opportunities to serve, support, and strengthen our community.
Why It Matters
When volunteers donate diapers, assemble kits, clean service vehicles, or support local agencies, they help build a stronger, more connected, and more compassionate community.
Week of Action also provides a meaningful opportunity for businesses to engage employees in service and strengthen their connection to the communities where they live and work.

Each activity directly supports local families, schools, food pantries, and community organizations throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
To participate in Week of Action, volunteers can register through the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties volunteer portal. First-time users will need to create an account, while returning volunteers can log in and select activities.
Week of Action is not only a powerful week of service — it is also a gateway to ongoing volunteer engagement throughout the year.
